Terms of Service.
These terms cover your use of the Roasters mobile app and the roasters.app website. By using either, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Roasters is a specialty coffee discovery app operated by Roasters Technologies. The app helps you find specialty cafés and roasters, save lists, leave reviews, and participate in community forums. The website is the marketing and informational front for the app.
Your account
Some features require an account. When you create one:
- Provide accurate information
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe
- You're responsible for everything done from your account
- You must be at least 13 (or 16 in some EU countries) to create an account
- You can delete your account at any time from the app settings or by emailing team@roasters.app
Your content
Reviews, lists, photos, and forum posts you submit ("your content") remain yours. By submitting, you grant Roasters a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute, and feature your content inside the app and on roasters.app. This licence ends when you delete your content (with reasonable propagation time).
You agree your content:
- Is yours to submit (you own it or have permission)
- Does not infringe anyone else's rights
- Is not unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or hateful
- Is not spam, fake reviews, or automated content
We may remove content that breaks these rules and, in serious or repeated cases, suspend or close the account.
Acceptable use
Don't do things that break the service or harm others. Specifically, don't:
- Scrape, copy, or republish the café database without our written permission
- Use bots, automated tools, or AI agents to interact with the service in ways that bypass normal use
- Reverse-engineer the app or attempt to access non-public APIs
- Submit fake reviews, fake check-ins, or manipulate ratings
- Use the service to send spam or unsolicited messages
- Use the service in violation of any law
The café information
The cafés, hours, photos, and other information in Roasters are collected from operators, public sources, and the community. We do our best to keep it accurate but we don't guarantee it. Always check directly with a café before making a special trip, particularly for opening hours.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews on Roasters reflect the opinions of the people who wrote them. They are not endorsements by Roasters. We may moderate obviously fake, defamatory, or off-topic reviews but we don't guarantee to read every one. If you see one that should be removed, flag it in the app.
Intellectual property
The Roasters name, logo, "Great Coffee Inside" mark, and the app and website design are the property of Roasters Technologies. You may use them only with our written permission, with the exception of brand assets explicitly made available on the press page for editorial coverage.
Pricing
Roasters is free to download and use. If we ever introduce paid features, they'll be clearly marked and you'll opt in explicitly.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We don't promise the service will always be available, error-free, or secure. We don't guarantee that any specific café is open, still in business, or as described. Use your judgement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Roasters is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months (which, for free users, is zero).
Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be flagged in the app and on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the country where Roasters Technologies is registered. Disputes go to the competent courts in that jurisdiction.
